VMCA Goes Virtual For 2021

VMCA Virtual Annual Conference Held January 26-27, 2021

The VMCA Executive Board voted unanimously to cancel the in-person 2021 Annual Meeting of the Virginia Mosquito Control Association, due to circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. A number of other states in the region and nationally have also cancelled in-person meetings.  During these unprecedented times, the health and safety of our membership and those we serve is at the forefront of this decision.  Budget cuts, jurisdictional travel restrictions, and safety issues surrounding large gatherings were all considered as we weighed our options.

The next in-person meeting of the VMCA has been rescheduled for January 25-27, 2022 at the Newport News Marriott at City Center. Sincere appreciation goes to Charles Abadam, who was able to renegotiate our contract for 2022 without incurring any of the thousands of dollars in cancellation fees that the organization would have been responsible for if we chose to cancel and re-book somewhere else the following year.

For any questions or concerns, please contact us.

Thank you, speakers, sponsors, organizers, and attendees!!

PDF presentations from the conference that were submitted by their respective presenters are posted with permission at the bottom of this page.

Videos of both conference days should be viewable directly below this message or you can click the following links to view directly on YouTube: Conference Day 1 & Conference Day 2. There are clickable links to each presentation start time in the descriptions on YouTube and the videos below should also be segmented.

We appreciate your support in this first endeavor of ours to virtually host our annual conference.

The videos will attest, it wasn't perfect but we sure tried our best!

Enjoy!
