2025/2026 CATEGORIES

1. 🚀 Ready, Set, Action!

We work hard, so let’s celebrate it!

Submit photos of Vector Control Specialists in action. To qualify, the image must include at least one person.

2. 👀 Now You See Me

Wait… is there something there?

Capture an animal blending into its environment. Photos in this category can be related to field or lab work—or just a great example of nature’s camouflage.

3. 🐍 Wait… It’s Kinda Cute… Right??

Some creatures make us say “aww,” while others… not so much.

Submit a photo of an animal or insect that some might find cute—even if it’s debatable!

4. ⚠ Don’t Try This at Work (or Home!)

Some things are just not best practices!

This category is all about what not to do when making pesticide applications. Staged, humorous, and educational photos are encouraged!

5. 📸 Blunder Alert

Sometimes things don’t go as planned—but that doesn’t stop us (at least, not for long)!

Submit photos of unexpected mishaps in the field or lab that highlight the unpredictable side of vector control.

6. 🔧 Mosquito MacGyver

Channel your inner problem-solver!

Submit a photo of a DIY solution to a work-related challenge—think outside the box and show off your creativity.

7. ✇ Soooooo Tired of Tires!

Tires are a common mosquito habitat—but let’s make them interesting!

Show off a new and creative way to showcase tires or tire-related mosquito habitats.

8. 🐜 Meme Masters

Time to flex your meme skills!

Submit a funny or creative arthropod-related meme featuring any kind of arthropod.

9. 🏆 The Crème de la Crème

All contest submissions will be entered into this final category, where one grand prize will be given to the winner.
