Congratulations to Lisa Wagenbrenner, Public Health Hero!

As part of its ongoing mission to recognize leaders in the Public Health space, Valent BioSciences has launched a Public Health Heroes program for the mosquito abatement and vector control community.
Three honorees were nominated by their colleagues in celebration of their extraordinary contributions to Public Health. Each received a framed print artwork as selected by the colleague that nominated them.

When nominating Lisa as a Public Health Hero, Dreda Symonds writes:

“Lisa has worked as a mosquito control biologist for 16 years and in 3 cities in the Hampton Roads, Virginia region. She is an exemplary field biologist whose knowledge of the mosquito habitats within our vast district is invaluable to our program. Her expertise is highly sought after through various training classes and outreach programs, and her enthusiasm and love of biology is infectious.”

VMCA annual meeting – call for presentations!

The time has come again to celebrate the vector world! The 2019 VMCA Annual Meeting is February 5-7 and we are looking for individuals to submit a presentation to share their experiences and expertise with colleagues in the vector profession.  This year’s conference will be held at the Hilton on the waterfront of Virginia Beach. Individuals will benefit from your experience while you are making a valuable contribution to the profession.  Our goal is for people to experience educational, informative, inspirational, and entertaining professional development.  Attendees express a strong desire for presentations that are engaging, enjoyable, and applicable in the “real world” of vector. Check out the 2019 Annual Meeting page for more information!
