Job Announcement

The Delaware Mosquito Control Section has a job opening for a mid-level Mosquito Control biologist (with possible career-ladder advancement to an upper-level biologist) as described in the e-link below.  The position is a very good one for anybody seeking a frontline, operations-oriented career in mosquito control (along with tackling some field and lab research); and in our case involves working for a state-level, statewide program somewhat uniquely housed within a state fish-and-wildlife management agency.

Hello VMCA members,

Would you like to be certified as a trainer by AMCA (American Mosquito Control Association) and CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention)?  Are you interested in learning about AMCA’s updated “Best Practices for Integrated Mosquito Management?”

This fall, Virginia will be hosting two free “Train the Trainer” workshops emphasizing AMCA’s 2017 Best Practices for Integrated Mosquito Management: A Focused Update.  These workshops will focus on Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus, container-inhabiting vectors of several human diseases. After the attendance of a workshop and the completion of the associated online e-modules, you can receive AMCA certification to train others.

For your convenience, workshops will be held in Northern Virginia and in Southeastern Virginia.  Each workshop will each be a two-day course taught by AMCA master trainers.
